Have a City Hackathon for High School / College Youth

I totally agree with this idea and that fresh ideas and resolutions are needed from a new generation. We've been grappling with this for how long now and have not been able to come up with a solution. I say let the young folks have a go at it. And I agree. Offer some type of an incentive for attending a session, something as simple as a Clipper Card or gift certificate that can be used at a food truck.

Go into this with the expectation that most of the ideas that the students produce will be unworkable--after all, most of the ideas that adults have produced are also unworkable. But at least we'll have some fresh minds with fewer preconceived notions thinking about the problem.
