Build More Tiny House Villages under Freeway Overpass
It actually creates permanent/semi-permanent housing for unhoused neighbors as opposed to shelters.
How will this be funded
This is not a good solution at all. It will look more crowded and create more crime and unsafe conditions for the homeless individuals
Figure out how to make tiny home villages sustainable permanent housing and create a community or village like feel, incorporating the support services and maybe "village roles" needed to support residents.
Placing any dwelling under a freeway overpassing is dangerous when we live in an Earthquake zone. - Think about the devastation that was caused when 80 fell down over Mandela Parkway. That is most certainly an inevitability, I would say. - Tiny homes are protection from the wind and rain, at best and ultimately, better than nothing. So I'll leave it at that.
Build more affordable homes for the community where it's clean and people will feel safe. This will also create jobs in the community if the builders hire the available local workers.
I volunteered here and what they are doing is tangibly helping fight homelessness and having an impact
