EBT cardholders get Free Dumping at Waste Management Dump
What are Oakland Seniors who have little income but can't get an EBT card to do? I was told we can only have one bulky waste a year. How would we get things to waste management without a truck?
How about free bulky pick-up for EBT cardholders? This would reduce the barriers to those who don't have access to a vehicle to drive to the waste management plant.
Bulky waste pick-up is free for everyone in Oakland. The word has got to get out so everyone will know about it.
If you mean that individuals need to take their trash to the dump, I think that would be difficult for many low income folks to do on a regular basis. I agree that we could give additional free dumping, but I think by putting trash collection in neighborhoods proactively may be a better solution, rather than relying on people to get their trash to a collection site.
Impose fines and follow through. Make it costly and kick them out of Oakland. We deserve better.
