Defund the Police = Fund Community Prevention

Defund is right. The cops ain't comin'. According to the federal courts, they don't have to. Pam Ferran (Loren's chief of staff) asks "What do I tell the constituent who has a drug dealer on the corner?" Tell her other ways are possible, based in the community, that don't require violent thugs with badges who commit racist crimes against people of color. This is a national problem, and Oakland is just as bad as anyplace.
